Ginacue Ernie Gutierrez 1970-73 4 Pt Cue

Although high-end Ginacues have long been popular among collectors and celebrities, in the early days Ernie Gutierrez built his reputation among players with solid playing cues such as this one. He estimates that he has made between 100 and 150 Titlist conversion cues since the early 60s.

The owner of the cue for the past 33 years had it refinished by New Mexico cuemaker Wes Hunter in 2006. Wes also rewrapped the cue with white with green speck linen wrap to match the original. The butt looks like it just came out of Ernie's shop.

Straight grain maple forearm with four rosewood points with four veneers, built from a full spliced Brunswick `Titlist�blank. The veneers are the traditional Titlist colors: purple, aqua blue, black, and maple. The black phenolic butt sleeve has Aluminum rings decorating the top and bottom, and a single maple stitch ring, with six 5-veneer stitches (black/green/orange/green/black). A piloted stainless steel joint with a 5/16-18 pin and red fibre 6-stitch ringwork (black/yellow/black) are set in the centers of the black phenolic joint and shaft collars. The cue is marked by an engraved �INACUE�on a white Delrin ring below the linen wrap. The cue is finished with a 1.65 inch white Delrin butt cap and a black rubber bumper, secured with a hex screw. The finish is �ike new�

One original 3-5/8 oz. (102g) shaft with brass insert, 29 inches long; original 12.15mm ivory ferrule, laminated tip. The shaft is straight and played but clean, with very light chalk stain.

The butt is 17-1/4 oz. (490g); length is 28-7/8 inches.
